As a graphic artist, my passion is the line in all its forms and the absolute freedom to express myself in any way I so desire.

My inspiration are the colours and shapes of flora and fauna and the diversity of organic structures including their micro and macro worlds visible within.

My energy tank fills up when I am observing nature whether it be in my direct surroundings or far away in tropical places. I have a special affinity for birds which I would often observe patiently as a child. I see them as symbolism for freedom, a flap of a wing and off we fly, and as metaphors for this message, they appear again and again in my work. A favoured form of depiction is the metamorphosis of humans into animals (or vice versa), where I often play the protagonist (which is not only a cheap prop, but also comes from my own urge to free myself and my body from my deeply trodden role as a woman in today‘s society).

My favoured medium - on the one hand - is drawing with a nib, dipped into a pot of Indian or coloured ink - on the other - cutting the line away from paper, lino or wood.

I have no intention of creating the perfect piece, splashes of ink, or a slip of the knife serve as new openings.

Planning the pieces is overlooked as spontaneity and freedom guide my hands. 

A playful and analytic stringing together of forms and constructions is like an ever changing puzzle, which I can cut and shape according to my needs. 

The mind is like a living library which harbours all kinds of information; experiences and encounters, silent pictures, written and spoken words, emotions and a lot more. Delving into this source is my never-ending narrative, which is continuously being modified. 

Much of my work has a story line evolving from my own experiences and giving some work an autobiographical touch. However, a nonsensical story line can unfold, often accompanied by a humorous twist - inexplainable, but there. And to me it doesn't matter why, my „Looking Glass“ goes with me everywhere. It offers new perspectives with even a touch of the ridiculous, whenever desired.

Georgina Lovelady Krausz was born in 1964 in Eastbourne on the South Coast of Great Britain.

She lives and works as an artist in Leonding, Upper Austria. And yes, this is her real name, she was born Lovelady. 

Since 2010 a professional artist with focus on Indian ink drawings, linocut prints and collages.

With a father from Liverpool and a mother from Linz, an unusual concoction of ingredients landed in her cradle: sharp witedness and double entendre run naturally through her œuvre, tools which sharpen her awareness.    

Since 2015 she is a member of the artists associations, Die Kunstschaffenden, BSA Art and Xylon Österreich. 

Participation in many symposiums in Austria, as well as exhibitions in Austria, Italy, Holland and Germany. 

Presented at the Linz Kunstsalon 2021. Since 2019 artist in residence in Corinthia, 2021 Bad Hall, Upper Austria.

Works in public and private collections.

Georgina Lovelady Krausz wurde 1964 in Eastbourne an der britischen Südküste geboren. Sie lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende Künstlerin in Leonding, Oberösterreich. Ja sie heißt wirklich so (die Frage kommt öfter).

Seit 2010 freischaffende Künstlerin mit den Schwerpunkten Tuschezeichnung, Linolschnitt und Collagen.

Mit einem Vater aus Liverpool und einer Mutter aus Linz wurde ihr eine schräge Mischung in die Wiege gelegt: "sharp witedness" und "double entendre" zieht sich naturgemäß auch durch ihr Œuvre, sind ihr ein Werkzeug, das den Blick schärft.

Seit 2022 Mitglied der IG Bildende Kunst.

Teilnahme an zahlreichen Symposien in Österreich, sowie Ausstellungen in Österreich, Italien, Holland und Deutschland. Teilnahme am Linzer Kunstsalon 2021 und AIR in Kärnten seit 2019. AIR Bad Hall, Oberösterreich 2021.

Arbeiten in öffentlichen und privatem Besitz.
